A wide variety of scenic natural settings are available at Cloud Hollow Ranch. Nearly 300 acres of rural and natural landscapes abound with backdrops of rocky or grassy terrain, dry and wet creek beds, groves of juniper, pecan, and oak trees, livestock pasture, cactus and wildflower patches, small fishing pond, thickly wooded areas, barb-wire fences, apiary (beekeeping yard), and rocky road trails. Campfires and bonfires may be permitted (contingent on applicable burn bans determined by county and/or state fire authorities). Trails vary from flat to steep and can accommodate 4x4 cars and trucks, ATVs, and equestrians.
HOMESTEAD AND GARDEN AREA
The homestead lies near the center of the property. It includes a refurbished 1949 two-bedroom home with a fenced yard, manicured lawn and a large vegetable and fruit garden. The house is a private residence and is not available for crew accommodation; however, filming and photography can be arranged for indoor settings. A large tin and wood barn and fenced chicken coop are located nearby. The barn and coop were both constructed circa 1950 and are currently functional, connected to a fenced pasture area with chickens, goats, cattle, and donkeys. All areas are available for film and photography, including elevated hunting blinds for higher vantage points.
40-ACRE HAYFIELD AND SHACK
The remnants of an abandoned wooden shack structure lie on the corner of a 40-acre hayfield. Windows and doors are missing and walls are overgrown with honeysuckle vine, cactus, and other vegetation. A 19th-Century rock wall structure encircles the entire hayfield and is ringed with pecan and juniper trees. An elevated hunting stand sits atop a ridge and provides a high vantage point overlooking the entire field. A second hunting stand provides an elevated view of the shack.
Construction and farming equipment, both modern and antique, are available for setting. A functional John Deere tractor, Skid-steer (similar to Bobcat), dump truck, and large excavator are available with operators for scenes, settings, or site prep. Requests to clear or cut juniper trees, or to excavate for scene/setting/prep will be considered. Authentic antique farming equipment is rusted and not functional but available for setting.
